THE ENRICO CHARLES LITERARY AWARD
Corporate Social Responsibility
With the decline of the worlds capacity to deposit shares or monies of any nature into charities the idea of the Enrico Charles Literary Award and its business model, is to change the way in which the current ‘charity giving structure’ operates, adapted to incorporate the current and future commercial financial capacities or capabilities.
It is important to understand that with the current and foreseeable crisis previous financial models other than CAF is almost impossible for charities and other humanitarian organisations to develop and or much less continue doing their essential works around the world. However it is vital that the new face of business and the world’s business economy recognise that these organisations must continue.
The world’s heath and population statistics show that not only is the birth rate going down and the age of the population is going up but that disease and disability is ever increasing.
Q. Why should financial institutions have a concern for these statistics?
A. As the economy is reliant on a healthy workforce the economy will suffer more if the workforce is deficient in any way. Today the world’s population although technically highly advanced with information transfer vehicles like telephones and TV and internet, the actual practical situation to date shows that the international, national and local communities have a very hard ability to connect and find information suitable for their needs. In the healthcare sector alone the people affected by problems range up to 600 million people globally [see who statistics] yet these people are in the position unbelievable to find suitable appropriate and relevant information yet the expenditure of the worlds healthcare commercial interests amount to billions being one of the world biggest income revenues.
Q. How is this possible that there exists such a disparity?
A. The simple answer is that the dispersal of information about people affected by health problem is largely ignored due to the very nature of the fact that society throughout the ages has not been able to cope with acknowledging the problems exist, if they do normally the issues are dealt with in a clinical fashion and or published in ways that is difficult of r normal society to ingest in a normal way. Added to this the fact that although the world is full of hundreds of thousands of charities themselves are not developed in a way that allows the inclusion of other interested parties and the people working inside do not know how to work effectively enough to deliver information in a widespread fashion and or are limited by funding and thus perpetuates the cycle of the critical delivery of information to those that are in need
Q. Why is it important that the people have information other than the obvious reasons and, why should this be of interest to commercial and financial institutions?
A. Overall it is of my opinion that apart from the humanitarian reasons it is essential practical and sensible interest to these institutions because a society that is well informed is well equipped to deal with problems and thus eventually be able to manage their lives so that they can be also useful in the global workforce.
